Tofu pudding has a long history as a traditional dessert in China. Soy bean is used in making Tofu pudding. Tai O has a few hotspots selling their signature handmade tofu pudding, which means every tofu pudding in different shops have sightly different taste.

 

After hours of walking, we decided to eat something cool and sweet. Tofu pudding was out best choice as it is a traditional dessert and we heard that the good quality water in Tai O could produce delicious tofu pudding.

 

The snow-white tofu pudding lay in a white bowl and looked like many pieces of shining silk. It appearance could cool me down by only looking at its whiteness. Ginger syrup and brown sugar were the special offer from the shop. They were all free of charge. It was my first time to have free ginger syrup for tofu pudding. It gave an extra layer and flavor to the pudding and became a little bit spicy with ginger aroma. The tofu pudding slipped into my throat smoothly and with rich soybean aroma. I finished it within 2 minutes and it was one of the most delicious tofu pudding I have even eaten.
